"The Changing Face Of Terrorism"

Posted on behalf of Joy, 05A7B

On 5th of December 2005, the students of 05A7B had meet up at the Central Lending Library, National Library Building located at victoria street, beside the Bras Basah Complex at about 12om. We meet up as a class to visit "The Changing Face Of Terrorism" Exhibition" as the NE trip for everyone.

The trip was organised by our NE rep sort of last minute. Due to the fact that our original idea of going to CPIB's exhibition learning about how the 2 way mirror and the lie detector work. However, the trip was postpone again and again. On considering that we do not want the learning journey to be brought to the following year, our NE rep had to think of alternatives.

The exhibition aims to nurture a better understanding of how terrorism has come to shape our world from a wider global perspective and across a longer historical timeline. From the exhibition, we learn how to differentiate between real and fake guns, real and fake passport as well as how to tell if one is a suicide bomber. There was a video as well as written information that tells us the possible indicators of suicide bomber such as oversized clothing, perspiring profusely. The trip was really a fun and interesting one.

Other than these, there was also other information such as the bombing of the McDonald house being related to Indonesian Confrontation as well as the names of "international Terrorist" groups namely Al Qaeda, JI and LTTE. We had alot of information given to us which will be very helpful in our General Paper(GP) topic the following year (2006).
